Juliet Munro

Juliet  is the Director-Inclusive Finance for FSD Africa, responsible for overseeing projects in credit, agricultural finance, housing finance and digital finance, among others. She lives in Lusaka where she has gained over 17 years’ experience as a researcher, strategy developer and programme manager. Before joining FSD Africa she was Zambia Coordinator for FinMark Trust, a regional financial inclusion programme, during which she managed projects in insurance, financial capability and digital finance, and coordinated national financial inclusion surveys in partnership with the Government of Zambia. Juliet has a BSc. Honours degree in Geography from the University of Liverpool, UK and a Masters degree in Cultural Geography from the University of Cheltenham and Gloucester, UK.

Lemmy Manje

Lemmy is an inclusive finance expert and has 20 years of professional experience in research, training and project management of financial inclusion projects with various international organisations. Lemmy provides technical assistance and management services to various international developmental organizations, insurance companies and other financial service providers. He has published numerous works on microfinance, microinsurance and small enterprise development. He has professional experience with various international organisations including the European Union, FSDZ, Financial Sector Deepening Trust Tanzania (FSDT), Financial Sector Deepening Africa (FSDA), Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR), Care International, Mennonite Economic Development Associates, FinMark Trust, Centre for Financial Regulation and Inclusion (Cenfri), Microfinance Opportunities, International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and Africa Development Bank, specialising in financial inclusion, microfinance, informal finance, microinsurance, digital financial services, private sector development, business development services, value chain development, market development and small enterprise development. He is an alumna of the Harvard Kennedy School program, Rethinking Financial Inclusion: Innovation for Policy and Practice. His professional experience for long and short-term assignments has mainly been in North, South, Central and East Africa as well as Asia and Europe. He has a Master’s Degree (MA) in International Development from University of Manchester, United Kingdom and Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Economics and Demography from the University of Zambia.

Titus Kalenga

Titus has over 45 years of professional experience in insurance and banking sectors. Titus worked for Zambia State Insurance Corporation (ZSIC) for 23 years and with Nico Insurance Zambia (part of Sanlam group of companies) for 19 years. Titus holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Insurance and Management from Nottingham and City Universities in the United Kingdom. Titus has served and continues serve on several company boards of directors including commercial banks, insurance and reinsurance companies. Titus also served as Secretary General of the Eastern and Southern African Insurers for 15 years. He served as Chair of the Microinsurance Technical Advisory Group for Zambia for 6 years. Titus also served Chair of Zambia’s National Working Group on Trade and Services which drafted the reforms in Insurance, Pensions, Banking and Stock Exchange in Zambia. He is the co-founder, Board Chair and Shareholder of Turtle Reinsurance Brokers Zambia Limited.

Shipango Muteto

Shipango Muteto, a Zambian citizen and Insurance Executive, Practitioner/Manager and consultant, with over 34 years of hands on Insurance, Reinsurance, Risk Management and Marketing experience, in the Eastern & Southern African Insurance and Reinsurance Industry, with International exposure through attendance of seminars, workshops and short courses in the Netherlands, India, Germany, USA, Japan, South Africa, Morocco etc. A training specialist in insurance and reinsurance, business and Customer Relationship management with a specific focus on service excellence and business growth. A chartered Insurer with the Chartered Insurance Institute of the UK, Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Zambia, an Associate of the Zambia Institute of Marketing, a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers, who has over the years worked in various capacities both in the technical and management positions for a number of insurance companies and he is currently Assistant Director of ZEP-RE Academy. Currently serving as President of the Technical Advisory Group ( TAG) on Micro - Insurance, Board Chairman of IZWE Loans Zambia Limited, President of the Zambia Japan Management and Technical Association (ZAJAMTA), and previously served as President of the Insurers Association of Zambia and Chairman of the Business Development committee of the Zambia Institute of Marketing.

Ayandev has over a decade of design and implementation experience in pension, life, health and agriculture insurance scheme(s) across Afro - Asia region, viz. in India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Kenya, Namibia, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. He has led several World Bank, ADB and donor funded (e.g., USAID, UKAID, DFID, IFAD) projects and advised governments, regulators, associations and insurers on social security schemes, regulations and strategies for building mass markets. He has worked extensively in the areas of product development, relationship management and facilitating tie-ups with partners and donors to provide insurance and pension solutions to the low-income households. In the recent past Ayandev has advised several Governments across continents on increasing access to credit (agriculture finance), improving agriculture productivity, reducing  vulnerability and enhancing social protection. Currently, Ayandev is working with the Ministry of Finance & Economic Planning, Government of Rwanda as “Strategic Adviser - Financial Sector Development Directorate”. Ayandev is assisting the Ministry in designing and implementation of policies, strategies and other reforms required to deepen, widen, strengthen the financial sector in order to support real economy sectors to achieve desired economic growth and enhanced well-being of Rwandans.
